Notice of Public Meeting - Opportunity for Public Comment
The City of Carl Junction will hold a public meeting regarding the City’s Stormwater Management Program and the renewal application for the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit. The meeting will be held on 3/17/26, at Carl Junction City Hall, located at 303 N Main St., Carl Junction, MO 64834 and will begin at 6:00 PM. Another meeting will be held on 3/23/26, at Carl Junction City Hall, located at 303 N Main St., Carl Junction, MO 64834. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM, as part of the regular meeting of the P&Z Commission.
The purpose of the Public Meeting is to present summaries of the MS4 Permit and the City’s Stormwater Management Program to the public and to receive comments. The goal of the Stormwater Management Program is to reduce nonpoint source pollution throughout the City using a combination of methods. These methods include public education and participation, illicit discharge detection and elimination, construction site and post-construction runoff control, and good housekeeping in municipal operations. A Stormwater Management Program is required for compliance with the City’s MS4 Permit, as issued by Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
The MS4 Permit Renewal Application documents and Outfall Map will be available for viewing at the Public Meeting. This information will also be available for public inspection Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Carl Junction City Hall, located at 303 N Main St., Carl Junction, MO 64834. All interested citizens are invited to attend this public meeting. Public comment will be accepted at the meeting. Written comments may be submitted either in person or by mail to Steve Lawver at PO Box 447, Carl Junction MO 64834 by 4:00 p.m. on 3/30/26.
