It is approximately 160 miles south of Kansas City, 295 miles southwest of St. Louis, 85 miles west of Springfield, 12 miles west of Carthage, and 5 miles east of the Kansas state line. Community Information and Quality of Life The community supports a local newspaper: "The Jasper County Citizen." The City of Carl Junction has five parks with tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, basketball courts and volleyball pit; public swimming pool; Bulldog Youth Association offering football, soccer, baseball, softball, wrestling and basketball programs. The parks are scattered throughout the city making access to any of them easy for our residents. The city is also maintains a swimming pool, along with an 18-hole semi-private golf course. Housing New home construction in Carl Junction has shown dramatic growth over the past 10-15 years, attributable to such factors as its location within a vibbrant metropolitian economic area.
